Steve Madden Glitter Boots Make Me Happy ♥
I got these boots in the mail today and despite some work stress – not to mention a bad pasta induced tummy ache – they made me giddy as a school girl. Originally, these retailed for about $169 but I found them on Hautelook a few weeks ago for $69. I know I vowed not to get any new shoes for a while considering I received so many for Christmas, but this deal was just too good to pass up. And I mean really, have you guys ever known me to pass on a discounted pair of glittery Steve Madden’s? Ya, I thought not.
This style, called “Hastt,” pairs glitter and suede for a glam but not gaudy look. I especially love the peep-toe because I’ll be able to wear these boots well into spring.
The heel is nearly 5′ which didn’t seem all that high until I actually stood up and realized I could see over the top of my cubicle. Given how tall these are, they’re surprisingly comfortable thanks to the 1.5′ platform which takes a little pressure off the arch of the foot.
This little buckle detail gives the shoe a touch of class without adding too much. Which is good, considering these sky-high, glitter encrusted heels already have so much going on.
And in case you were wondering, yes I did plan tomorrow’s ensemble around these boots. If I have time in the morning I’ll snap a few pics for an outfit of the day post, but I’m thinking dark jeans, a grey cardigan and a lacy black cami will give my new Steve Maddens a chance to shine =)
♥Shoe Pr0n♥
Girls like me look at shoes the way most men look at porn. In fact, shoes ARE my porn. I just can’t get enough – especially when it comes to heels, platforms, cute prints and sparkles. This week I added two new pairs to the collection hiding deep in my closet and away from the prying eyes and sticky fingers of my shoe crazy friends and family. But since these are particularly amazing I thought I wold give everyone a glimpse of the newest additions to Jackie’s shoe closet:
I love these because the look is SO pin-up. And they’re unbelievably comfortable thanks to the platform – I wore these to work yesterday and lasted a good 6 hours before they started to hurt, which in girl world is amazing. I picked them up at a discount shoe store called OffBroadway for about $34, and it was money well spent as I can wear these regularly and they’ll pretty much match with any solid.
I’m in love with these because they remind me of something Mariah Carey would wear – super high and super sparkly. These are Madden Girl, and I got an amazing deal on them – also at OffBroadway. I originally got a pair as a gift for my cousins birthday, but they’re so fabulous I had to go back and get a pair for myself. And since I had some frequent spender cash saved up (ha) I payed a fraction of the price for these – about $12!
I’m done shoe shopping for a while since I need to start saving money, but these will keep me sated until the urge strikes again. Aaaaaah shoes, how I love thee. Wait…did someone say…shoes???

DIY- Stretching Tight Shoes…In the Freezer!
I know putting shoes in the freezer might seem strange to many of you, but I’ve sworn by this method for years to make my stilettos a little more comfortable without damaging stretching tools and costly trips to the cobbler. Using this method, you can stretch your shoes out about a half a size overnight – and for about $0.50. All you need is a freezer, 2 ziplock bags and of course…a cute pair of shoes.
For this tutorial, I’ll be using my new Micheal Shannon wedge heels. I fell in love with these the other day while I was looking for a gift at OffBroadway and haven’t stopped thinking about them since. So last night, I gave in and picked them up.
Shiny black leather, a sky high wedge and corsetting along the back of the shoe…I die for these!
So, although these fit fairly well, the problem lies with this pointy little toe that makes these so tight I can barely walk. I didn’t notice it at the store, but this morning when I tried to wear these to work I found myself walking like a chickenhead and had to take them off. Cuz there’s nothing sadder than a 30 year-old chicken head. Except for maybe a 40 year-old chickenhead, but I digress…
To get started, grab two ziplock bags. Though you can use any size you like, I recommend using the regular sandwich bags since they tend to hold just the right amount of water to get the job done.
Fill the bags about 1/3 of the way with water. Make sure to dry the outside of the bags afterward to prevent water from getting into your shoes.
Place the bags into the part of the shoe that needs to be stretched. Since I’m stretching out the toe, I pushed the bags as far into the shoes as I could.
Place shoes in the freezer overnight. I put my shoes in uncovered because they’re brand new, but if you’re doing this with pre-worn shoes I highly suggest putting the shoes in a plastic grocery bag first. You don’t want all that ickiness lingering in the same place you keep your emergency stash of Ben and Jerry’s.
The next morning, take the shoes out and allow them to thaw for about a half hour. Then, put on your shoes and go! If for some reason they’re still a little snug, repeat the process a few more times using just a little more water. If that still doesn’t work, then start looking for your receipt cuz guuuuurl you bought shoes that are way too small!
Spring is for New Steve Maddens!!!
Spring is here! Ok, well not quite considering it’s hurricane fail outside my window right now, but that doesn’t mean I can get my closet ready for the warm, sunny days to ahead. I found these sky high Steve Madden ‘Marryy’ espadrille wedges at Nordstrom the other night and had to try them on the second I spotted them. I haven’t broken them in yet due to the weather, but the second it clears up I’ll be wearing these with some distressed jeans and a wifebeater. Ah the hotness, welcome back to my life!

The heel on these is super high, I measured them at about 4.5 inches. Which means my short ass looks almost 5’9. Hello world, wow things look different up here!

So fresh, so clean! The black canvas makes these casual enough for every day, and they are suuuuper comfy so I’ll be able to wear them at work for 8 hours without limping by the end of the day.

I die for this 2 inch platform! And as crazy as it sounds, that’s what makes these shoes so comfy. With heels like this, a higher platform really helps take the pressure off your arch. And it looks pretty too =)
Get them: Nordstrom, Steve Madden
Price: $89.95
