This weeks installment dates back to 1995 and comes to us courtesy of the Bad Boys soundtrack. I hadn’t thought about this song in years until earlier today when I was discussing a shy co-worker and this catchy tune popped into my head. Immediately I was flooded with memories of skating to this with my friends at our local roller rink and demanding the DJ play it at my quinceanera so I could show off my moves. I also remember only being able to sing along to about half of the lyrics since I didn’t know what the heck Diana King was talking about most of the time. See kids, in those days we didn’t have the internets at our disposal so we couldn’t just go look up lyric on our magic computers. We had to learn our lyrics the hard way – by taping the song off the radio and rewinding it 100 times.

I had kinda forgotten how awesome this song was, not to mention how much I love the video. Will Smith’s bare chested, slow motion run at 1:16 and Martin Lawrence’s hilarious moves made this one of my favorite videos of that year. Ok, I’m gonna go replay that Will Smith run a few more times before adding this song to my iPod workout mix. Oh, and that part of the song no one could figure out? According to the interweb, this is what Miss King was saying:

Ya, I still don’t know either. But damn it I still love this song.

Today marks what would have been my parents 33rd wedding anniversary, and this was thier song. It brings back some beautiful memories of when we were all soooooo happy. You are so missed daddy <3

I’ve been saving this one especially for this week since tomorrow is the first day of September. This song/day always means alot to me since August is always such a tough month. My dad had his accident August 9th of 2002, and died on the 30th so this has always been a horrible time for me. But the first day of September always marks a new beginning, hence why this song means so much to me. Not to mention it’s one of the best songs of all time, by one of the best bands of all time.


It also means that Fall, my favorite season is just on the horizon! I can can almost smell the dried leaves now…

Not only is this one of the best sexy time songs ever, but the video freakin rules. I mean, it has everything you could ever ask for. A saucy LA nightclub, dancing girls with 90′s layered hair, a cameo from Holly Robinson before she was Robinson Pete! And don’t even get me started on how Babyface does the lambada with practically every girl in the club. Shit, his hair alone is reason enough to watch all 6 minutes and 19 seconds of this cinematic masterpiece.

This song right here has had me laughing my ass off all day. Cuz’ I used to sing this ALL the time when it first came out, and I just now realized while listening to the words that this song is about making the sexy time. So basically I was singing about sexy time in the 5th grade. Explains alot…
