Review- Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Styling Gel
I originally planned to save this for a collective haul video, but since I’ve gotten a few messages asking if I had tried this gel yet I figured I would just do a quick little review. It’s not the worst gel ever, but I don’t really like it and here’s why:
This product would have scored much better with me had it not made my hair so crunchy. But I do really like where they’re going with the zero flaking so hopefully they tweak the ingredients a bit to offer the same benefits without the stickiness and crunch factor. For now however, I’ll stick to my Herbal Essences Set Me Up gel.
Final Verdict: Hated It!

Breaking News!!! I’ve Changed My Hair Gel!
Like what I did there, making it sound all urgent? Ha.
I picked up Aussie Instant Freeze Sculpting Gel on the recommendation of a reader who also has curly hair. And I’ve totally found my new favorite – and believe me, a new favorite was much needed!
My hair has been looking like crap lately, and when it get’s particularly unruly that usually means it’s time to change hair products. As someone who uses styling aids everyday, I find they tend to be less effective once my hair gets used to them. I’ve been using the LA Looks number 8 for about a year, and now it’s to the point where I may as well be putting water in my hair for all the good it’s been doing me.
The Aussie gel however, is just what I needed. My hair is back to fabulous, and the curls stay smooth all day. It’s also not sticky, which is rare for any hair product with the words “freeze” or “sculpting” in the name.
Oh, and did I mention it’s super cheap? I got it on sale for $2.99 a tube, but it’s regularly about $4.00 which still isn’t bad at all. Especially for a product that works well. I’m so impressed that I’m re-visiting the entire Aussie line, so check back for more reviews on that.
